Door sensors play a crucial role in the automation of door systems and the safety of door operation. These sensors are placed on industrial doors to ensure precise control, safe movement and effective safety mechanisms.

Safety sensors

A key element are sensors for obstacle detection or presence detection, which are used to prevent collisions with objects or people. These sensors are often equipped with advanced technologies such as infrared, ultrasound or radar and enable the door opening to be monitored. As soon as an obstacle is detected, the sensor sends a corresponding signal to the door control unit, which stops or changes the door movement to prevent potential damage.

Activation sensors

Activation sensors are used to automate door movement and optimise the integration of the door into goods flow processes. These sensors detect an approaching object, such as a forklift truck or lorry, and open or close doors as required at the right time. Particularly worth mentioning here are radar detectors, induction loops or IR sensors.
