Product information "Brutewinder Torsion Spring Winding Tool – Spring Diameter 51–152 mm"

The Brutewinder is a professional spring winding tool for winding and unwinding large torsion springs on industrial and sectional doors. With a maximum torque of 285 Nm, a weight of only 5 kg, and its robust, compact design, the Brutewinder combines high performance with excellent handling during installation, maintenance, and service work.

The integrated self-locking worm gear is driven by a suitable power drill. This allows even powerful torsion springs to be wound and unwound in a controlled manner while significantly reducing the manual effort compared with traditional winding bars.

High performance at only 5 kg

With a maximum torque of 285 Nm, the Brutewinder is designed for demanding applications and large torsion springs. Despite its high performance, the tool weighs only 5 kg, making it easy to handle and position during installation and service work.

This combination of high torque and comparatively low weight is one of the Brutewinder’s key strengths. The tool is suitable for torsion springs with wire thicknesses of up to 12 mm and spring diameters from 51 to 152 mm, covering a wide range of industrial torsion springs.

Additional flexibility is provided by compatibility with two common shaft diameters: the Brutewinder can be used on both 25.4 mm / 1" shafts and 31.75 mm / 1.25" shafts.

Compact design for industrial applications

Despite its high performance, the Brutewinder remains compact. A minimum clearance of only 89 mm is required between the torsion shaft and the wall.

This is particularly advantageous for industrial door systems where high spring forces need to be handled while space around the torsion shaft is limited. The tool measures 625 × 206 × 127 mm.

Self-locking worm gear for controlled operation

At the heart of the Brutewinder is its self-locking worm gear. Due to its design, the torque of the tensioned torsion spring cannot cause the tool to rotate backwards on its own. Rotation is generated exclusively by the connected power drill.

A 14 mm 6-point socket is used to drive the tool. A suitable power drill in drilling mode therefore performs a significant part of the work that would otherwise have to be carried out manually.

The result is an efficient winding and unwinding process with significantly reduced physical effort – a major advantage, particularly when working regularly with large torsion springs on industrial and sectional doors.

Robust stainless steel and bronze construction

The Brutewinder is designed for demanding professional use and is manufactured from 304 stainless steel and bronze. This high-quality combination of materials provides excellent load capacity and durability.

For a spring winding tool designed to transmit torque of up to 285 Nm, robust construction is an important feature. At the same time, the Brutewinder remains remarkably easy to handle at only 5 kg.

Compared with other spring winding tools on the market that combine aluminium, steel and plastic, the Brutewinder features a particularly high-quality and robust construction. Spare parts are also available for long-term professional use. Wear parts and replacement components can be replaced separately when required.

Safely stored in a hard case

The Brutewinder is supplied in a robust hard case with foam insert. The tool and its components are protected and neatly stored during transport and storage.

This is a practical advantage for installation and service technicians: the spring winding tool can be safely transported in a service vehicle and taken directly to the job site in its hard case.
